Our story

I built Fellow Pros because I needed it

Fellow Pros is made by a field service technician, for tradespeople — the tool I wish I had when I started.

I'm running Vesta Appliance Repair, an appliance repair business in Illinois, for 4+ years now. I know this trade from the truck to the back office.

And I know the daily pain by heart: paper estimates that never got followed up, parts that you forgot to stock because you thought you had them, quotes lost in a thread of text messages, and payments I had to chase for weeks. To have a clear understanding if you're making money at all, you have to spend hours in spreadsheets and accounting software.

In the very beginning I started with Google Calendar. And it worked for a while. Later on, I wasn't able to look up historical data on their mobile app and I still needed a streamlined way for invoicing, payments, and analytics.

So I started to shop around with popular field service software products. Some of them were offering too many features I didn't need, but had to pay for. Some of them were not user-friendly enough for me. But the cherry on top of that were their sales and onboarding processes. I was bombarded with sales calls and emails. Even when you're an active paying customer, they'll hide prices for extra features just in order to make you a target for upsell calls from their sales team.

I bet I'm not the only one who is tired of telemarketing. I like to explore stuff on my own, and ask for assistance when I need it. I don't like to be pushed into purchasing. Therefore I don't push my customers into purchasing. The very same approach I take with my appliance repair business. That allowed me to run my business without spending a dime on ads for THREE years! Along with high quality service and fair pricing, of course.

None of them seemed to understand the needs of appliance repair guy — they were built for a broader audience, for a different trades, or for enterprises with an IT department, and they made me bend my business to fit the software.

So in 2024 I started building the tool I wished I had — and I failed. My first attempt didn't even make it past the initial prototype. In 2025 I started over and built more technologically independent tool but still was living like a batman - appliance repair guy in the day and a software developer at night. And finally I burnt out...

I abandoned the project for several months. And by the time I came back to it, I didn't have that energy and motivation to finish the project the way it was started.

So I started over again. This time I felt unstoppable. I built an MVP and started to use it in my day-to-day work. This way it's easier to hone the product and my vision became clearer than ever. Every feature had to earn its place by solving a real problem.

The mission now is simple: give other independent home service pros the same system — without the enterprise price tag or the bloat.
I - don't have a swarm of shareholders to please and tell me what to do.
You - have somebody relatable who can understand your pain and is building a tool to solve it.
Together we can build a better tool for all of us.
